Employers act following high-profile cyber attacks

EMPLOYERS have moved quickly to bolster their cyber defences following high-profile attacks at major retailers and government agencies, new research suggests.

A survey of more than 1,000 managers by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) found that four in five had taken preventative measures in direct response to the cyber attacks.

Half of those who had taken steps to improve security had invested in cyber security training and awareness programmes for all employees and three in five said their organisation had introduced enhanced software and systems updates.
