ROB Elliot has confirmed he will set out his plans for his second spell in charge of Gateshead over the coming days.

- By MARK CARRUTHERS

The former Newcastle United and Charlton Athletic goalkeeper returned to take charge at the International Stadium on Friday before overseeing the first game of his reign in a 3-1 defeat at National League rivals Tamworth just under 24 hours later.

Elliot was able to name Louis Storey in his starting XI after the former FA Trophy winner agreed to return to his previous role of player-coach after a short spell with National League South club Dorking Wanderers.

He was joined in the Heed side by striker Mark Beck and defender Brad Nicholson after they joined the club the day before Saturday's defeat in the Midlands.

Further new signings are being worked on and there are high hopes they can be completed in time to feature at Southend next Tuesday.
