Defeat proved costly for Pardew and staff at United

ALAN Pardew has revealed that his staff could not look him in the eye after Newcastle United lost out on a bonus during his time in charge.

Newcastle were on course for a top-half finish on the final day of the 2010-11 season after racing into a 3-0 lead against West Brom at St James' Park.
However, Newcastle ended up missing out on a place in the top 10 after Somen Tchoyi scored a hat-trick - which had huge financial consequences internally.
