Dianne Buswell tells MARION MCMULLEN she is tour ready after her Strictly Come Dancing triumph

You and comedian Chris Causland are the Strictly Come Dancing champions and won the Bafta for the most memorable moment in TV for your You'll Never Walk Alone waltz. How would you describe your relationship?

I always say he is like the best friend I never really knew I needed. Chris is an absolute delight to work with and I loved every single second of being with him. We speak almost every day.

How did your joint podcast come about?

Chris said we need to do something that would keep this relationship going. We both just enjoyed each other's company so much.

That was when the idea of a podcast came about and the name, Winning Isn't Everything, was kind of our team name throughout the whole of Strictly show... and then we went on to win it.

It's genuinely a catch-up that we have every week and our producer goes: “Guys, you've ran over time again,” because we just talk and talk. I find Chris so interesting.

He probably doesn’t find me as interesting, but he likes to make fun of everything I do and make jokes.

It's really great that we get to continue that relationship and work together with our podcast.

How did you begin to teach someone who is blind to dance?

My whole teaching style was 90% visual and I would just say: “This is what we are going to do,” and I would just show them or I'd show them a video.

HEALTHY START

January is the right time for a reset. Nothing extreme, just food to help you feel good. Think fresh flavours, colourful plates and meals as nourishing as they are comforting. Soothing soups, vibrant salads and a spicy curry are on my menu plus, of course, the odd selection box chocolate which needs eating up!
