Burn: We feel we belong at the very top
The Journal
|July 19, 2025
NEWCASTLE United star Dan Burn has admitted that he did not know what to do as the Magpies secured two major achievements last season.
Firstly, Burn - who headed home the crucial opener against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final could not quite grasp the enormity of ending Newcastle's 70-year trophy drought at Wembley after the Reds were beaten 2-1.
But even as Newcastle players bounced on the hallowed turf after securing Champions League football, Burn felt that Newcastle were merely delivering what they should be to the fans.
The feeling he wants to reproduce in the 2025/26 season is that achieving big things becomes "normal" even if that means less hype when Newcastle tick off big achievements.
Burn who goes into the friendly against Celtic today looking to set the tone for the new season - told The Journal: "It is an amazing achievement.
