Banned driver led police on chase in a 20mph zone

A BANNED driver has avoided jail after taking police on a chase through a 20mph zone of a Northumberland town and then refusing a drugs test.
Peter Mullin was already on a community order for driving offences when he came to the attention of officers whilst behind the wheel of a Land Rover Freelander in Ashington.
A court heard that 20-year-old then ignored a “no entry” sign, flouted the speed limit in a 20mph area and travelled in the wrong direction down a one-way street. And when he was finally stopped and arrested, he refused to provide a specimen of blood to test for the presence of drugs in his system.
