When K-Pop stars stole the show in Paris
The Island
|October 11, 2025
They say fashion week is when Paris breathes, when the lights, the fabrics, the glamour and the expectation hang thick in the air.
-
Lately those same weeks have begun to pulse with a different kind of electricity, one that comes from K-Pop stars walking into front rows, stepping onto runway platforms, and flashing into millions of phone screens across the world. Paris Fashion Week has long been a global stage for designers, models, stylists, the great houses of couture and ready-to-wear. Now it has become a proving ground for idols, whose power no longer lies only in sound or video but in couture, in presence, in how one frames a look for both camera and crowd.
This season many idols showed up not simply as attendees but as ambassadors for luxury, as statements of what fashion wants now. Jisoo of BLACKPINK was at Dior, her calm confidence affirming that her role as global ambassador has weight, that she belongs in the rooms where style is decided. Jennie was at Chanel, stepping into traditions with enough edge that expectation tilts into surprise. Rosé made temptation out of minimalism at Saint Laurent, dressed in ivory, letting the garment speak but also letting the silence around it speak back. These moments matter because they are being seen not only in Paris or fashion magazine pages but in feeds, stories, reposts in Manila or Seoul or New York. The ripples spread fast.
