United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Keir Starmer asserted that India is well on track to become the world's third-largest economy by 2028. His comment on Indian economy is seen here as a seeming jibe at US President Donald Trump's claim that India's economy was “dead.”
With Prime Minister Narendra Modi by his side in Mumbai, Starmer made no bones about the fact that India's growth story has been remarkable, with the country recently becoming the world's fourth-largest economy, surpassing Japan.
Starmer, who began his speech by greeting the gathering in Hindi, reinforced that the UK wants to be partners on India's growth journey.
