Dear Sir,

We warmly welcome you as a friend of Sri Lanka and as a global leader. We recall with deep gratitude the immense support you gave us during numerous crises. Most recently the supply of essential drugs and vaccines during Covid and the large amount of aid to overcome the economic crisis. We thank you and your great nation which continues to support SL to enable us to live in dignity. While accepting your assistance at times of need with deep gratitude, we humbly suggest you to consider the spiritual leadership you and your nation could offer.
You are now leading a great nation, which gave the world three of the greatest leaders of peace: Gautama Buddha, Emperor Ashoka and Mahatma Gandhi.
A common thread which links all these great human beings is their uncompromising renunciation of violence which is a radical call against war. It is radical because they refused to respond to violence with violence.
