A battery of more than 50 topnotch lawyers has been assembled to mount a legal challenge to the government’s controversial Bill seeking to strip former Presidents of their entitlements.
Five former Heads of State, Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maithripala Sirisena, Mahinda Rajapaksa, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, have joined forces for the battle, holding a series of preliminary meetings with their legal team.
