From screenwriting and visual effects to casting and marketing, AI is quietly reshaping the way movies are conceived, made and sold. Like all technological shifts in cinema, it brings both creative opportunities and existential anxieties. The camera has not stopped rolling, but the people behind it are learning to share space with algorithms.

The earliest signs of Al’s impact came in visual effects. What once required armies of digital artists and months of post-production can now be done in a fraction of the time. AI tools can de-age actors, fill in missing frames, or replace backgrounds with startling precision. Filmmakers who struggled with budgets and deadlines now find these systems invaluable. But the same technology also raises new ethical questions. If an actor’s image can be convincingly recreated long after death, who owns that performance? The debate intensified after the recent use of digital replicas of long-dead stars, which some found innovative and others unsettling.
