Where's a nice, healthy spot for a break from Bangkok?

Q My son lives in Bangkok and I am London-based.

We and our spouses would like to meet up in November for two or three weeks, with minimum travel for him - no more than five hours' flight, as he has health issues. We also want to avoid too much travelling from the airport. We are mainly concerned about weather and air quality. My son would ideally like a snorkelling option - and, if viable, cultural stuff for me and spouse.

Fran H

A November is a good time to be in Thailand, and somewhere like the island of Phuket would meet most of the criteria - although it would be a long and complicated flight for you.
