'You don't know when your moment will come. So, be ready'

AMANDA Owen has given a 'be ready' message to fans as she has warmly reflected on 'the humblest of beginnings'.

Amanda, who shot to fame appearing in Channel 5's documentary series Our Yorkshire Farm, has spoken to us about her new book.

The famous face has worked on her first children's book and it is called Christmas Tales from The Farm.

Amanda is a bestselling author of five books about her life as a shepherdess. Her latest offering is a collection of festive short stories for readers aged between seven and 11. The tales are inspired by day-to-day life in North Yorkshire at Ravenseat.

Born and bred in Huddersfield, Amanda, inspired by reading James Herriot stories, is known to millions of people for her farm-life at the 2,000-acre Ravenseat grounds.

As far afield as Australia and Thailand, you'd find devoted viewers of the TV shows featuring Amanda Owen and her nine children who she has raised at the farm with Clive Owen.

The Yorkshire Shepherdess, who last weekend appeared at Huddersfield Literature Festival, has spoken to us about her early TV experiences, how she happened to appear and the ways it has opened the door to something rather special for her and her family.
