Unsolved murders mapped - and six are local

Jasem Asakerh was shot dead in 2009

The online map, produced in support of a specialist print publication, Britain's 1,000 Unsolved Murders Vol II: Midnight Stalkers, captures 1,000 unsolved murders from across the country.

The map allows viewers to discover the cold cases dating back to before the Second World War.

Among the unsolved murder cases in Huddersfield is the death of Jasem Asakerh, who was "blasted in the chest with a double-barrelled shotgun" as he sat in a car in 2009.
