'Risks and uncertainties' in 'sensible' hill visitor centre plans

A BUSINESS plan for a visitor centre at Huddersfield’s Castle Hill has been prepared on a “sensible basis” but there are “risks and uncertainties”, an independent review has concluded.

Huddersfield accountancy firm Wheawill & Sudworth carried out a review of the financial business plan at the request of Historic England. The plan is to create a visitor centre, cafe, restaurant, bar and six bedrooms at the historic site, as well as free public toilets and exhibition space.

The review concluded the final version of the business plan and forecasts “have been prepared on a sensible basis” and the original plan had been more fully developed following feedback.
