NEW RULES MEAN THEY EXPIRE EVERY THREE YEARS

Residents warned not to miss out on their postal vote

THOUSANDS of Kirklees residents could lose their vote ahead of next year's local elections - unless they take action now.

Under new national rules, postal votes now expire every three years. That means if you choose to vote by post and haven't reapplied recently, your postal vote will be cancelled unless you renew it before January 31, 2026. If this happens, you'll either need to vote in person at the polling station or reapply from scratch.
