School of Dance celebrate their World Cup place

Silk School of Dance, based in Honley, secured their place in the prestigious competition after triumphing in a field of more than 9,000 applicants.

Only seven contestants from each category make it through to the finals, in Dublin next July, and Silk’s young dancers have earned their spot in the highly competitive Children’s Ballet section.

Silk described the achievement as “truly extraordinary” and said the dancers had worked very hard for a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
