Boss Grant urges Town duo to 'keep fighting' for jersey

HUDDERSFIELD Town manager Lee Grant has urged goalkeepers Lee Nicholls and Owen Goodman to “keep fighting” for the number one jersey.
Goodman initially claimed the starting spot in League One matches following his arrival on loan from Crystal Palace, and made a positive start to his time at Town, keeping four clean sheets in his first five games.
However, the 21-year-old relinquished his place in the side after being sent off in the 3-1 defeat at Barnsley at the end of August, with the stopper having featured in just one game since, the 1-0 defeat at Harrogate Town in the EFL Trophy.
Nicholls started the season playing in the cup competitions, with the goalkeeper having since kept two clean sheets in five League One matches following Goodman's dismissal.
Discussing his selection dilemma at a recent press conference, Grant said: “I'm certainly not daft enough to think that either of Owen or Lee would be satisfied with just playing in cup competitions, it goes the same for all of our players.
