CLEVERLEY IS SAD TO SEE CEO PARKINSON LEAVE PILGRIMS

- By CHRIS ERRINGTON chris.errington@reachplc.com

TOM Cleverley has spoken about how Andrew Parkinson 'played a massive role' in bringing him to Plymouth Argyle as their head coach this summer.

Parkinson stepped down as Argyle chief executive at the end of last week, after more than six years in the role, and Cleverley, who was appointed by the Pilgrims in June after Miron Muslic left the club, has wished him well.

Cleverley revealed that former Argyle head coach Wayne Rooney, his ex-Manchester United and England teammate, told him before he took charge at Home Park that Parkinson was 'a great guy to work for.

Argyle have yet to make any announcement about a new chief executive being appointed, although Herald Sport understands that talks have been taking place behind the scenes.
