Warning of asbestos as demolition is planned

A UNIQUE Plymouth building is up for demolition soon and a warning is in place regarding asbestos.
The area around the property has been cordoned off in preparation for destruction and signs are up informing the public not to enter the site.
In 2019, the council was marketing the site as a development opportunity - and according to a planning application confirmation letter last year (2024) the site is already earmarked for 18 flats after demolition.
The eye-catching, but now unloved, structure in Victoria Place, Stonehouse, was once part of the Valletort Mills site, a steam-powered corn mill in the city. The building stands on Millbay Road on the corner with Miller Court, but will soon be knocked down for good.
