PERMITS COULD BE BROUGHT IN FOR ROADS

- By WILLIAM TELFORD

Views sought on parking dilemma

Beaumont Road is among the roads that could be made permit parking

A PERMIT scheme could be brought in close to Plymouth city centre where residents are fed up with commuters taking up all the parking spaces near their houses.

More than 5,200 households in Plymouth’s Sutton and Mount Gould ward are being asked for their views about issues caused by workers parking in residential streets.

Plymouth City Council is carrying out the survey in areas of Prince Rock and St Judes where residents have complained to ward councillors for years that commuters leave their cars in their streets and make it difficult for them to park near their homes.

The aim of the survey is to get residents’ feedback on the level of the problem and gauge their views on potential solutions.
