Tributes paid to award-winning architect

SIR NICHOLAS GRIMSHAW ALSO DESIGNED THE EDEN PROJECT
ACCLAIMED architect Sir Nicholas Grimshaw, who designed the Eden Project, in Cornwall, and the award-winning former headquarters of The Herald, in Derriford, has died at the age of 85.
The news was announced on Monday by the architect's firm, Grimshaw, which he founded in 1980.
Sir Nicholas (pictured below) was best known for designing the Eden Project, the ecological centre in Cornwall which has become a popular visitor attraction, in part because of its bubble-like structures.
He also designed 'The Ship' at Derriford, in Plymouth, which served as offices for The Herald and sister title the Western Morning News from the early 1990s until the newspapers moved to Millbay in 2013.
