AUDIO-VISUAL READING WITH AN 'AMBIENT SOUNDSCAPE'
FOR Plymouth poet Andrew Martin and many others - it will be a dream come true when he launches his new collection with an "audio-visual reading" in a taphouse.
The poet, artist and publisher will unleash his latest book, entitled A Dreaming, at a special event on Friday, June 2, 7.30pm, at Bulletproof Brewing Co's Tap Haus basement in Mutley Plain.
The book, published by Andrew's Shoals of Starlings Press, features a long poem accompanied by 16 haunting images, all created by Andrew
He will read from it during what is being billed as an audio-visual experience where he will be accompanied by an original ambient soundscape by Plymouth composer and music producer Riigs, otherwise known as Mark Allin.
The two have already created a recording featuring Andrew reading the poem accompanied by Riigs' ethereal soundtrack.
Andrew said: "To enhance the poem's themes Riigs collaborated with me to create an original ambient soundtrack for an audio-visual reading of the poem, set to be released on the Shoals of Starlings Press YouTube channel.
