ADVOCATE AT BARBICAN THEATRE
SINGER/SONGWRITER, broadcaster and prominent LGBTQ rights advocate Tom Robinson is coming to the Barbican Theatre this weekend.
He arrives with fellow muso Adam Phillips to present an evening of songs and stories from across his career entitled: Then and Now, 50 Years of Adventures in the Record Industry, 1975 to 2025.
There are plenty of stories to tell: He started out with acoustic trio Cafe Society in 1975 - who were picked up by Ray Davies of the Kinks - then, after Davies failed to do much with them, went on to form the Tom Robinson Band.
They smashed the charts with 2-4-6-8 Motorway, also creating political classics like Up Against the Wall and Don't Take No For An Answer
