Starting price revealed for auction of mansion

PLYMOUTH'S historic Pounds House will go under the hammer with a guide price of at least £500,000, it has been revealed.
The Grade II listed building and the land around it, in Central Park, will be auctioned at the end of this month.
Clive Emson Auctioneers has now revealed bidders will have a "rare opportunity" to acquire the 200-year-old mansion villa and its surrounding grounds with a freehold guide price of £500,000 "plus".
The 19th Century pile is being offloaded by owner Plymouth City Council along with 0.36 hectares of land around it.
The council said the disused building is in need of a new lease of life and although it has looked "extensively" at options, and ploughed nearly £500,000 into it since 2020, it has not been able to find a use for it. It is looking for a "sympathetic new owner" who can revive and restore the structure and expects to sell it at auction.
