Reggae vocalist brings authentic vibe from latest album to region

HOLLIE Cook arrives in the South West next year brandishing her fourth album Shy Girl which she says is her most authentic offering yet.
That the reggae vocalist and songwriter has a talent for musical creativity is unsurprising given that her dad was Sex Pistol's drummer Paul Cook, her mum Jeni was a backing singer for Culture Club and Boy George is her godfather. In 2006 she joined the reformed Slits and went on to collaborate with Ian Brown and Jamie T, and after releasing her self-titled debut album she won rave reviews as well as a radio session for the BBC and an appearance on Later with Jools...
Hollie's journey in music has been about finding her own way having been first drawn to the big walls of sound that backed the close harmonies of 60s girl groups and classic Motown 45s.
