RESIDENTS ANGRY AT LOSS OF 'GORGEOUS' LIMES
A PROTEST is to be staged over “crazy” plans to chop down more trees at a Plymouth military base. Protesters are to gather outside the Regimental Training Wing building opposite the Royal Citadel to oppose moves to fell seven “gorgeous” mature trees.
A group called Save the Lambhay Trees and the organisation Save the Trees of Armada Way (Straw) are backing the protest. They want as many people as possible to attend the demo, at Lambhay Hill on the Hoe, at 1pm on Sunday, September 8.
Lynne Sears posted on the Save the Lambhay Trees Facebook page that it was “a group for anyone wanting to get involved with trying to make them (the Ministry of Defence) see sense”. She said: “Need as many people as possible to join us for the demo.”
