THERE may be another nine days before the full Plymouth Gladiators line-up for their first meeting of the season, but star men Nicolai Klindt and Ben Barker fared well in the recent Championship pairs event at Workington.
The 36-year-old Dane Klindt (pictured left) and 37-year-old Barker (right) will spearhead the Gladiators this summer and paired together for the event at Workington last week-end, they reached the semi-finals.
Unfortunately, the Plymouth pair were beaten by their nemesis - Poole Pirates who were then beaten themselves in the final by the Redcar Bears.
The Gladiators got off to a fine start in heat one, beating the host club pair of Antti Vuolas and Tate Zischke, with Barker following Klindt home for a Gladiators one-two.
