Plaque honours 'Owl Man' Russell

PLYMPTON FIGURE DIED EARLIER THIS YEAR

ONE of Plympton's most well known characters has been honoured with a small plaque, emblazoned with an owl, in the spot he used to frequent.

Russell Burt was known to many as just 'The Owl Man' thanks to his marvellous collection of feathered creatures he would gently carry and sit with in the town and further afield - before he died earlier this year.

Over many years Mr Burt shared his love of the birds with whoever took the time to sit and talk with him in the Ridgeway. His collection of birds were often seen at other venues, including the Plym Valley Railway, the Yealmpton Show and the Colebrook Carnival.
