STRIKER'S GOAL SETS ARGYLE ON THEIR WAY TO VICTORY

- By CHRIS ERRINGTON

TOM Cleverley thought Bim Pepple's equaliser on the stroke of halftime was a vital moment as Plymouth Argyle went to beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1 at Home Park.

The Pilgrims had been second best to Doncaster throughout the first half but they went in level at the interval after Pepple scored his 10th goal in the last 15 games.

While it was a much-needed lift for injury-hit Argyle, it was a significant blow for Rovers after they had been in such control.

Cleverley said: "It's one of the most common phrases used in football but that one felt big. We were poor first half and it would have been a real flat halftime. We would have took a bit of stick coming off I'm sure, deservedly so. That goal it was not only what it did to us but what it does to them (Doncaster) after performing well first half, coming to a difficult place and not going in ahead.
