Passenger boost sees ferry jobs secured

CROSS-CHANNEL operator Brittany Ferries has seen a huge hike in the number of people travelling between Plymouth and Europe - safeguarding jobs and bringing the company back to pre-Covid success.

The business saw an overall 4% increase in passengers during the summer, with more than 9,000 extra people travelling through Millbay on routes to France and Spain. In total, more than 166,000 passengers journeyed on the Plymouth-Roscoff route, up 3%, and more than 75,000 on the link to Santander, which cemented its position as the route of choice for Brits seeking summer sun in Spain, up 6%.
