New literary festival for city

PLYMOUTH has a new literary festival to look forward to this year with a diverse line up of workshops, lectures and book readings.

The Plymouth Literary Festival will take place over a weekend next month, with a packed programme of events held at Portland Square, at the University of Plymouth.

On February 14 and 15, participants will have the opportunity to engage with renowned authors, attend insightful discussions, and participate in hands-on workshops designed to enhance their writing and reading skills.

Events take place each day between 10am and 4pm and organisers stressed the festival is not just about listening; it’s about interaction, collaboration, and the joy of sharing ideas, so budding writers through to seasoned readers will find a welcoming space to explore their passion for literature.

The “community-organized” event is supported by nonprofit organisation Global Plymouth, and free to attend, aiming to bring together literature enthusiasts from all walks of life, fostering connections and inspiring creativity.
