MPs hit out after 150% increase in Tamar Tag fees

PLYMOUTH MPs have demanded a justification for the recently announced 150% rise in the admin fee for electronic tag holders crossing the River Tamar.

Luke Pollard MP, Fred Thomas MP and Anna Gelderd MP have signed a letter urging the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee to reconsider their decision to increase the admin charge.

During the recent meeting of the Committee, members agreed to increase the TamarTag administration fee from £0.80 per month to £2.00 per month, an increase of 150%.

The MPs urged the Committee to reconsider this approach and ensure that any changes are fully justified, consulted on, communicated transparently, and implemented with due regard for the impact on local communities.
