Mixing flowers and chocolates... pure joy

I USUALLY get stuck into housework on Saturday mornings - but not last Saturday.

I was invited by Tina Parkes, the Principal of The British Academy of Floral Art, just outside Exeter, to a chocolate and floral display workshop!

Tina founded the Academy with her friend, Julie Collins, over 10 years ago and they have since achieved an international reputation, as the most highly qualified and award-winning floristry teaching team in the country. She is the only English florist to hold a Dutch Masters. She also holds an American and British Masters, and in 2017 she gota gold at Chelsea.

Well, I didn’t need an excuse. I've been to several workshops at the Academy before and loved every minute of them. It was a soggy old grey morning but once that barn door to the studios opened... wow!

That heady aroma of roses, lilies, fresh greenery and something new this time... the mouthwatering smell of warm chocolate! Beats the heck out of Cif and a toilet duck any day.
