Flag Force Plymouth and a group of counter-protesters gathered near Plymouth Civic Centre
DEVON and Cornwall Police have made use of a rare power which targets protesters who refuse to remove face masks.
Officers attended a protest last Saturday, December 5, which saw members of the Flag Force Plymouth group and counter-protesters affiliated with antifascist and pro-refugee groups gathered near Plymouth Civic Centre.
The force said about 50 officers attended the march, with a view to keeping the peace and “enabling peaceful protests”.
The ‘South West Unity March’ started at 12pm and lasted for about three hours. Marchers on both sides visited places including Plympton, Plymouth City Centre, Plymouth Hoe and the Barbican.
