Jack MacKenzie to miss start of season

The summer signing from 2024/25 Scottish FA Cup winners Aberdeen missed the final two warm-up matches, the 6-0 win away to Torquay United last Wednesday and the 2-0 defeat by Bristol City at Home Park on Saturday, after suffering from tendinitis.

Brendan Galloway played at left-back for Argyle against Bristol City but he is a more recognised central defender, while Ayman Benarous took over that position as a substitute in the second half.

Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley said: "Not good news with Jack, unfortunately. He has got a tendinopathy that is sore, that will need a bit of time to settle down.
