I KEPT looking at my watch, wondering when we were going to drive to the airport. I didn't know how long it would take, but I had confidence my brother-in-law would get me there on time.

As it happens, he's the laid-back type, and I could see the gap shrinking between us getting to the airport and checking in. I was getting increasingly concerned and very annoyed.
