PILGRIMS DISCUSS WHAT WENT WRONG AGAINST LINCOLN

- CHRIS ERRINGTON

IT'S GOOD TO TALK!

MIDFIELDER Matt Butcher has revealed there was 'quite a long chat' in the Plymouth Argyle dressing room about what went wrong in the 2-0 Easter Monday defeat by Lincoln City at Home Park.

The Pilgrims produced a hugely disappointing performance as they lost top spot in League One to Sheffield Wednesday and are now just a point clear of third-placed Ipswich Town in the incredibly tight race for automatic promotion.

Butcher admitted Argyle did not react well enough after falling behind to a 28th minute breakaway goal from Lincoln, who defended a corner and then caught them on the break.

It was the third consecutive game in which the Pilgrims had conceded the first goal of the contest, with the others being the 4-0 Papa Johns Trophy final defeat by Bolton Wanderers and the come-from-behind 3-1 victory over Morecambe on Good Friday.

Butcher said: "We have had quite a long chat in there about what we felt went wrong and just reiterating what we need to do going forward.
