Fly the flag with pride - not with prejudice

IT seems odd to have to say this, but there is nothing wrong with flying the flag of your nation - or indeed your county.

Whether it is the St George's Cross, the green-and-white of St Petroc’s Cross (for Devon) or the striking monochrome of St Piran’s Cross (for Cornwall), or indeed any other symbol of nationality or regionality, flags cannot be taboo.
Yet there are times when flags can become used as symbols of not just pride in a country or region, but of provocation.
