Edwards & Cooper remain unbeaten at the top

Debbie Bauckham and Karen Johnstone

However, credit must go to all four players for putting on a real high quality match in the most awful of conditions. With the rain pelting down from the middle of the first set until the final point of the match, both pairs produced outstanding performances with some highly energetic rallies being played out across all three sets.

Arash Dinari and Lawrence Hay emerged victorious in a closely fought match against Dave Bate and Isaac Jackson.

There was little to separate the pairs in the first set, with a single break allowing Arash and Lawrence to edge it 6-3 and it was a similar story in the second set which they took by the same scoreline. Dave and Isaac continued to battle away in the third set but it was the consistency of Arash and Lawrence which made the difference in the end to close out a straight sets victory 6-3, 6-3, 6-2.
