Cycling is the best recipe for urban congestion

FORGET electric cars - a recent article in The Economist (October 11) explains why the bicycle is the true disruptive technology capable of revolutionising urban transport.
Look at Montreal, which has become North America’s leading cycling city, with bikes accounting for a fifth of all journeys in some neighbourhoods.
Similar trends are visible globally: cyclists now outnumber cars in the City of London by two-to-one, and in Paris they outnumber motorists across the whole city.
