If you are over State Pension age, you could be entitled to extra money, which could be worth, on average, over £4,000 per year. An estimated 910,000 households are eligible for Pension Credit and not claiming it, missing out on the financial boost.

So, what is Pension Credit? Pension Credit gives you extra money to help with your living costs. And, while you need to be a certain age, you don't have to be claiming the State Pension to be eligible for Pension Credit.

Instead, Pension Credit looks at your total weekly income and adds a top-up: to £227.10 per week for single people and to a joint weekly income of £346.60 for anyone living with a partner. In some cases, this could be more. And because Pension Credit is based on the level of your income, you may still be eligible if you have savings, if you are still working, or you own your own home.
