DIVE SHOP AND CAFE FOR FORMER PUB ON COAST PATH
THERE'S a special, hidden part of the South West Coast Path along the outskirts of Cattedown that boasts stunning views over to Turnchapel.
The old route was one of Plymouth’s original roads and would have once been a horse and cart track - but now it leads to a special venue that’s being brought back to life.
Left unloved for decades, the Passage House Inn has been taken on by a local family - and they can’t wait to welcome visitors.
The Passage House Inn site dates back centuries, although the original building dated back to the 1700s. After a devastating fire, it was rebuilt and used as a pub (which it was originally). The venue closed down decades ago but is now a hive of activity again.
Jon-Paul Mitchell, 53, and his partner, Deborah Metcalfe, 51, have bought the Passage House. They will be operating two businesses from there, Sound Diving, with opportunities for local youngsters to “catch and cook” seafood - and a new cafe, Nudibrunch, will be based at the premises for everyone to enjoy.
