Cafe owners move their outlet to 'growing hub'

The famous Minerva Cafe and Clothing venue has closed at Bretonside, but the couple who ran it have opened the newly named Sato at nearby Alma Yard.

And the enterprise is now much more than a cafe, being a restaurant and bar too with craft beer and cocktails.

The Minerva Cafe was opened by Dan and Lou Rowbotham in 2021 and soon became a major hit by offering specialist coffee, tasty food, craft ales and even street fashion items.

The business has now relocated to Alma Yard, at Candlewick Lane, Cattedown, a growing hub for independent businesses such as Heyl Bakery, Vision Factory and Jackie Gale Art.
