THERE are some famous names in The Box’s ‘Making a Mark: Dazzling Drawings from the Cottonian Collection’ exhibition. This drawing is attributed to one of the most famous of all.

Like William Shakespeare or Sigmund Freud, Leonardo da Vinci is a name we all know. He lived during a ‘golden age’ of creativity and his impact on art is huge. Generations of artists have been inspired by him or tried to emulate his work. His influence also extends to science, thanks to his beautifully accomplished anatomical and mechanical drawings.
