£52k for 2 months' work while 351 axed

UNIVERSITY'S FORMER VICE CHANCELLOR NOW RETIRED
THE University of Plymouth's former Vice-Chancellor Prof Dame Judith Petts earned more than £52,000 for her final two months in the job - in a year which saw the institution make 351 redundancies.
The professor was paid £52,755 from August until she retired at the end of September 2024, after nearly a decade in the job. She had earned £320,000 in her last full year in the post. Her successor as vice-chancellor and chief executive, Prof Richard Davies, took over on October 1, 2024, and pocketed a total of £257,205 for 10 months' work.
Prof Davies' basic salary is £260,000, according to the university's newly published accounts, which is £15,000 less than Prof Petts was paid.
