Taylor Swift signals start of new era with album announcement

Taylor Swift appears ready to reveal her next "era" after announcing the arrival of a new album, The Life of a Showgirl, early yesterday morning.
The singer's website crashed at 12.12am eastern US time after fans tuned in to watch a countdown.
Moments later the name of the new album was revealed, along with the promise that it would be shipped before 13 October.
Swift is due to appear on New Heights, the podcast presented by her partner Travis Kelce, an American football player, today.
