ROB Edwards explained how his decision to take David Strelec off at halftime of Middlesbrough's win over West Brom was a tactical one, as Boro ran out 2-1 winners at the Riverside.
Strelec had given Boro a 26th-minute lead on his home debut, with the Slovakian showing a poacher’s instinct to get in the right area to make what was just his fifth touch of the game a crucial one.
But, expecting the visiting West Brom to have a lot more impetus after the interval, Edwards made Strelec the latest victim of his halftime cuts.
