'Tears' at nursery over Ofsted rating
The Gazette
|July 15, 2025
'TEARS were shed' after a Teesside nursery was told that it 'requires improvement'.
Directors at The Bee Hive Day Nursery were left disheartened by their recent Ofsted inspection on June 5.
The Redcar facility, which offers full day care, was rated as requiring improvement in all areas including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
However, the directors of the nursery, which is in the grounds of Outwood Academy Redcar, say they are "really proud of the wonderful relationships" children have built with staff.
In response to the Ofsted rating, they said: "We admit it's been a bit disheartening for us, and there have been a few tears shed, but we also felt that the nursery runs really smoothly and our children in nursery are happy.
"While it does highlight some areas we can work on, we are really proud of the wonderful relationships our little ones have built with our staff.
"Their happiness, safety and comfort are our top priority, which is reflected in the report.
