Takeaway offers Christmas Day lunch to pensioners on their own

BIGHEARTED takeaway staff will be cooking Christmas dinners for pensioners on their own during the festive period.

Kimble's in Billingham, which serves a wide range of hot and cold food, is expecting to deliver at least 70 lunches to people in the community who will be spending Christmas Day on their own.
Owner Louise Waller said they have cooked and delivered the lunches, which are distributed on Christmas Eve, a few times before and said some of the pensioners have no family at all, a number are in their 90s and there is even a 100-year-old.
